Sam Blesse was born and raised in Quincy. He lived and worked in the Redding area for several years as a paramedic (both flight and ground ambulance). He currently manages the ground ambulance service for Care Flight which encompasses all District territories. Sam is also an owner of an emergency medical response trailer that can be deployed to multiple types of disasters or large events. He is married to Ashley Blesse, RN, Plumas District Hospital’s Clinical Education Coordinator. He is the father to two young girls. Sam coaches various athletics and volunteers throughout the community. Sam has been instrumental in improving the quality of prehospital emergency medicine in central Plumas County. In fact, this area became the first rural community in California to be designated a HEARTSafe Community, and has been recognized for its high rate of survival for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.
